As a father of five kids spanning through elementary, middle and high school, I’ve seen firsthand the lasting impact our schools and teachers make on our kids and their families. The collective impact of public education is incredible, and personally I’m working to contribute to this effort.
After years of involvement as a parent, coach, and volunteer, I’m confident we need a couple of things: a smart strategy for growth and more support for our educators. On growth, our schools are like our traffic—overcrowded and always playing catch-up. On teacher support, we need to re-address the stressing issues that affect quality of education: competitive pay, student attendance, behavior related conflict, drugs, safety and more.
I bring a unique combination of experience and perspective that will add valuable balance to the board. As Vice President of Product for a nationally recognized brand, I’ve gained strong skills in business management, leadership, strategic planning, and collaborative problem-solving.
I’m running to be a fresh voice on the board; someone who will challenge the status quo and work collaboratively to create a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Let’s make the most of this incredible opportunity to create a gold standard district.
